Turkish cinema week starts in Azerbaijan
Baku residents and guests of the city will be able to watch films by Turkish directors for free during the week
The 6th Turkish Film Week, which will be held on December 17-21 in Baku the capital of Azerbaijan, began with the screening of the film directed by Semih Kaplanoglu “Hasan’s Loyalty”.
Turkish Cinema Week aims to bring together representatives of the Turkish and Azerbaijani film sectors, share experience, and establish contacts between directors, actors, screenwriters, etc.
The opening of the festival, organized by the Association of Indigenous Thoughts and the Baku branch of the Yunus Emre Institute with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey and the Ministry of Culture of Azerbaijan, was held at the Nizami Cinema Center.
The opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey Ahmet Misbakh Demirjan, Deputy Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan Vagif Aliyev, MP Metin Gundogdu, Turkish Ambassador to Baku Cahit Bagchy, Head of the Baku branch of the Yunus Emre Institute Selcuk Karakilic, Turkish Film Week coordinator Oner Kiliç , many guests.
