Turkic World Youth Forum Kicks Off at KazNU

The 1st International Turkic World Youth Forum has officially begun at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Approximately 200 young people from 25 countries have gathered to participate in this landmark event, which is being organized for the first time, TuraNews.kz reports citing the press service of KazNU.

The first day of the forum featured a motivational session and a discussion meeting for young attendees.

Notable figures at the event included Mustafa Kapucu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Türkiye to Kazakhstan; Abdullah Eren, Head of the Office of Turks Abroad and Related Communities; Nobel Prize-winning chemist Aziz Sancar; Iskender Pala, Chairman of the Cultural Policy Committee of Türkiye; Sabit Suatay, Acting Vice-Rector for Social Development at KazNU; and other diplomatic representatives.

Throughout the forum, speakers highlighted the importance of strengthening the unity of the youth across the Turkic world. Topics such as the creative industry and the development of new technologies were also discussed.

In his speech, Nobel laureate Aziz Sancar emphasized, “It is crucial for the youth of the Turkic states to collaborate and strive towards a common goal. Only then will the relations between the Turkic countries strengthen and evolve dynamically. The continued growth of the Turkic world is a tremendous achievement for all of us. Holding such large-scale forums for youth is vital in this regard.”

Participants had the opportunity to ask speakers various questions and engage in a free-form exchange of ideas, sharing their own proposals.

As part of the forum, a tour of Almaty’s landmarks was also organized. The young people discovered Kazakhstan’s tourism potential and experienced the beauty of the city firsthand.

The official opening ceremony of the 1st International Turkic World Youth Forum will take place on November 22. The three-day forum is being organized by the International Organization TURKSOY in partnership with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
