Turkestan Region’s Tourism Delegation Wraps Up Successful Visit to Türkiye

A dedicated delegation, formed with the aim of showcasing the tourist allure of the Turkestan region and enticing visitors, has concluded its mission in Türkiye, particularly in Istanbul, TuraNews.kz reports citing the press service of the Akimat of the Turkestan region.

The delegation, led by Adil Konysbekov, Deputy Head of the Regional Department of Culture and Tourism, and comprising Serik Sandybaev, General Director of “Open Turkistan” Tourist Information Center LLP, Zhaksylyk Akimov, Vice-Rector for Social Development and International Cooperation of the International University of Tourism and Hospitality, and other representatives from hotels and restaurants, engaged with the Turkish Turksab travel agents association. During the meeting, they presented the tourism potential of the Turkestan region, distributing promotional materials.

Following mutual agreement, plans for information tours from Turkish travel agencies to the Turkestan region in 2024 were solidified.

The delegation’s business trip extended to Istanbul Commercial University, where discussions with Dr. Israfil Kuralay, the university’s head, revolved around establishing close ties and sharing experiences between universities in both countries. As a token of appreciation, Turkestan residents presented works of local artisans to the university representatives.

The special delegation was also welcomed by Nuriddin Amankul, the Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Istanbul. Amankul acknowledged the attention dedicated to tourism development in the Turkestan region and expressed willingness to assist in promoting tourism through business contacts.

In parallel, a working group from the region’s tourism sector organized Road Show-format meetings in Kayser and Konya. During these sessions, historical, cultural landmarks, attractions, and the natural beauty of the Turkestan region were showcased to prominent universities and tour operators.
