Trump Blasts Zelensky in Harsh Criticism

Former U.S. President Donald Trump escalated his attacks on Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky, accusing him of low approval ratings and refusing to hold elections in Ukraine.

Speaking to reporters in Florida and later posting on Truth Social, Trump labeled Zelensky a “dictator” and demanded an immediate peace deal, Kazinform reports.

Trump claimed that Ukraine convinced the U.S. to spend $350 billion on a war that “should have never started.” He argued that Washington had given Kyiv $200 billion more than Europe while receiving nothing in return.

“Zelensky himself admitted that half of that money has simply disappeared,” Trump alleged.

Additionally, the former president accused Zelensky of deliberately avoiding elections, stating that his approval ratings in Ukraine were plummeting.

“He played Biden like a fiddle. Without elections, he remains a dictator who must act quickly, or he’ll be left without a country,” Trump wrote.

Trump also claimed that his administration was successfully negotiating an end to the war, asserting that “only Trump can achieve this.”

Ukraine remains under martial law, which legally prevents elections from being held.

Zelensky previously stated that Russia’s war against Ukraine has cost the country $320 billion, with $200 billion coming from the U.S. and the EU.

Trump’s remarks drew criticism in Europe. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz condemned the comments, saying, “Questioning Zelensky’s democratic legitimacy is both wrong and dangerous.”
