Trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan grows
The trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan increased by 2.7 percent for 2022 compared to the same period of 2021 and reached to $926.3 million, Turanews.kz reports citing the Uzbek State Statistics Committee.
During the related period, Uzbekistan’s imports from Turkmenistan amounted to $731.5 million, while exports – $194.8 million. Thus, Turkmenistan entered the top 11 biggest foreign trade partners of Uzbekistan for 2022.
Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover in 2022 exceeded $50 billion, an increase of 18.6 percent, or $7.8 billion compared to 2021.
During the period, the volume of foreign trade between Uzbekistan and Russia exceeded $9.27 billion, while imports exceeded $6.21 billion, and exports – about $3.06 billion.
Other main partners of Uzbekistan in terms of trade for the specified period are China (more than $8.9 billion), Kazakhstan (more than $4.6 billion), Türkiye (more than $3.2 billion), South Korea (more than $2.3 billion), Kyrgyzstan ($1 .26 billion), Germany ($1.15 billion), Afghanistan ($759.9 million) and India ($690.5 million).
