Following the results of seven months of 2023, Kazakhstan is among the three main foreign trade partners of Uzbekistan, Turanews.kz reports.
The Agency of Statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan reported that Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover reached $34.9 billion in January-July 2023, an increase of 23.3% compared to the same period last year.
China remained the main trading partner of Uzbekistan, with a turnover of $6.9 billion (19.7% of the total). Russia was in second place with $5.3 billion (15.1%), and Kazakhstan was in third place with $2.49 billion (7.1%).
In the structure of the total trade turnover, Uzbekistan exported goods to Kazakhstan for $807.7 million, while imports amounted to $1,682.7 million.
The increase in trade between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan is a positive development for both countries. It is a sign of the growing economic cooperation between the two neighbors.
