President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has received an official invitation from US President Donald Trump to join the Peace Council on Gaza. Kazakhstan has also been proposed as one of the founding members of the new international body.
The information was confirmed by the President’s Press Secretary, Ruslan Zheldibay.
According to him, the initiative to establish the Peace Council was put forward by President Trump, who extended formal invitations to a number of world leaders. Argentina, Hungary, Türkiye, Pakistan, Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, and Italy have already announced their acceptance of the proposal.
Kazakhstan is among the countries invited to participate, and the proposal has been accepted. Zheldibay noted that President Tokayev sent a response letter to the US President, expressing appreciation for the invitation and confirming Kazakhstan’s readiness to take part in the Council’s work.
The letter also reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to contributing to lasting peace in the Middle East, strengthening international trust, and supporting global stability.
The press secretary added that the invitation had been received earlier, but public disclosure was considered inappropriate prior to official notification from the US side. Once all arrangements are finalized, the full list of participating countries in the Peace Council will be made public.
