In order to overcome one of the biggest problems in the education sector in Mongolia – the lack of nurseries, TIKA provided the necessary educational materials and equipment support by constructing a school building for kindergarten students No. 187 located in the 4th District of Nalayh Municipality, where families with low income live.
To the opening ceremony of the nursery; TIKA Central Asia and Caucasus Department Head Dr. Ali Ozgun Ozturk, Nalayh Mayor Radnaabazar Choijinsambuu, Nalayh Municipality Council President Narantuya Pürevdorj, Nalayh Deputy Mayor Manduul Natsag and TIKA Ulanbatur Coordinator Emrah Ustaömer.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, TIKA Central Asia and Caucasus Department Head Öztürk said, “Today, we are in the Nalayh Municipality region where our cognate Kazakh brothers and our Mongolian brothers live together and where the Tonyukuk inscriptions, which are the oldest written documents in Turkish history, are located. We are happy with the project we have implemented for our children, who are our future, to receive education in modern conditions. We wish good luck to our teachers and our children,” he said.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor of Nalayh Radnaabazar said, “TIKA has carried out projects in many fields such as education, health, agriculture, landscaping and cultural areas in our Nalayh Municipality before. Today, we are here for an important project in the field of education. Previously, our children in this nursery were receiving pre-school education in Mongolian tents. Thanks to TİKA, our children today have access to a modern education environment. Currently, the Bilge Tonyukuk Museum is being built within the borders of our Nalayh Municipality. Our cooperation in this field will also continue. I would like to thank the Turkish people and TIKA for their support.” used the phrases.
Only half of the kindergarten age children living in this region could benefit from pre-school education services in the 4th District of Nalayh Municipality. With the project, the capacity of the Nursery No. 187 was increased to 200 children and a modern education environment was created.
