Three Uzbek Nationals Sentenced to Death in UAE
On March 30, a court in the United Arab Emirates sentenced three Uzbek nationals to death for their involvement in the killing of Rabbi Tzvi Kogan.

According to Ynetnews, the incident took place in November 2024. Rabbi Kogan was reported missing on November 21, and shortly after, police found his body showing signs of violent death. Kogan, a dual citizen of Israel and Moldova, was the leader of the Orthodox Jewish Chabad group in the UAE and served as deputy chief rabbi of the country.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu strongly condemned the murder, calling it a “heinous terrorist act.” Officials vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice, and Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency was reported to be assisting in the investigation.
UAE authorities swiftly arrested three Uzbek suspects: 28-year-old Olimpi Tokhirovich, 28-year-old Mahmudjon Abdurakhim, and 33-year-old Azizi Kamilovich.
Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has yet to issue an official statement, saying it is verifying information about the court ruling.
