The winners of the Turan Barysy Tournament were announced

In the final of the tournament, the wrestling teams of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan fought each other fiercely. The Kazakhstani wrestling team won the tournament by outperforming the Uzbekistan team with a score of 4:3. Kazakh national team athlete, Galımjan Kırıkbay defeated Uzbekistan’s Muhsin Kisomuddinov in the Aktik competition and won the victory for the Kazakhstan national team, while the Kyrgyzstan team defeated the Azerbaijani team with a score of 4:3 and became the third in the tournament.

While various monetary awards were given to the winning teams, Thai cauldron cups, the symbol of the city of Turkestan, were presented to the top three teams.

According to Kuanyshbek Esekeev, The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Public Fund for the Support and Development of Kazakh Wrestling “Qazaqstan Barysy”: “Generally Kazakh wrestling is a highly respected and popular sport that gathers thousands of spectators. Such a popular flag competition provides a lot of opportunity to promote the uniqueness and traditions of our nation. The more tournaments like “Turan Barysy” are organized, the more the interest in Kazakh wrestling will increase and its scope will expand.” said.

The tournament was held in order to develop and support the national sport in Kazakhstan. In addition, “Turan Barysy” puts forward the task of attracting young people to sports and preserving national traditions.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the administration of the Turkestan region, as well as the “Qazaq kuresi” association, the Kazakh wrestling support and development fund “Qazaqstan Barysy”. The general partner of the tournament is “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC, the sponsor is the Tourism and Sports Industry Support Fund.
