The State Security Service of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic was directly subordinated to Baku

The Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic State Security Service was abolished and replaced by the Nakhchivan General Directorate of the Azerbaijan State Security Service, TRT Haber reports.

In place of the abolished unit, the Nakhchivan General Directorate of the Azerbaijan State Security Service was established.

The security service, which was subordinate to the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, is directly subordinated to the central government in Baku.

The internal administration of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, which is affiliated to Azerbaijan but also has its own constitution is undertaken by the speaker of the parliament.
