The Kazakh film “Zere” won a prize at the international festival

The Kazakh film “Zere” won the prize for the best music at the Minsk international film festival “Listapad”, the press service of “Kazakhfilm” reports.

The prize for the best sound (musical) solution went to Kazakh composer Dana Zulpykhar for his work in the film “Zere”.

The film “Zere” by director Dauren Kamyshbaev participated in the Minsk International Film Festival, which was held from November 4 to 11.

The film “Zere” was filmed with the support of Qara Production “Kazakhfilm”, Libertus Film, Cinema D and the Zhambyl Regional Cinema Center.

The Zere is a drama film. The story about a freedom-loving girl who rebelled against the will of her mother, when after the tragic death of her husband, she decides to sell her daughter as a wife to the richest and most influential person in the village. But Zere is in love with the proud fisherman Talap and runs away with him to secretly get married on a neighboring island.

The main roles in the film were played by Adina Bazhan, Sanurzhan Suleimenov, Murat Bisembin, Berik Aitzhanov, Olga Landina, Yelzhas Rakhim and others, and the shooting itself took place in the vicinity of Lake Balkhash, on the fishing island of Taisoigan, located against the backdrop of Moiynkum sands.

Also at the last September, in the competition of full-length films of the Kinoshock festival in Moscow, the Kazakh film Zere received a prize for the best music.
