The Head of State Chairs an Expanded Government Meeting

Today, an expanded Government meeting is being held under the chairmanship of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The meeting will review the socio-economic development outcomes of the country for 2024 and outline the key objectives for the upcoming period.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan:

“The expanded Government meeting takes place against the backdrop of significant global changes. Global processes could have a strong impact on the economic situation in our country.

It is also important to consider that the transition to a new technological paradigm, based on total digitalization, will lead to the creation of qualitatively new realities in the world. We need to be prepared for this. Successful adaptation to these new realities will be a determining factor for Kazakhstan’s competitiveness and sustainable progress.

We will assess the effectiveness of the Government and akims primarily based on the results of economic development and improvements in the quality of life of citizens. Today, we have gathered to review the outcomes of the past year and define the current tasks that need to be solved in the shortest possible time.”

According to the agenda, reports will be presented by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin, Chairman of the National Bank Timur Suleimenov, Chairman of the Board of JSC “Samruk-Kazyna” Nurlan Jakupov, Akim of the city of Astana Zhenis Kassymbek, Akim of the city of Shymkent Gabit Syzdykbekov, and Akim of the Kyzylorda region Nurlibek Naliyev.
