The Amanat Party Nominates Olzhas Bektenov for Prime Minister of Kazakhstan

The Amanat party has put forth the candidacy of Olzhas Bektenov for the position of Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan

As reported by the Akorda press service, TuraNews.kz informs that Erlan Koshanov, Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament and Amanat party leader, proposed Olzhas Bektenov as the party’s candidate for the role of Prime Minister to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Per current legislation, the Head of State will deliberate on the proposed candidacy with leaders of party factions in the Mazhilis.

Olzhas Abayevich Bektenov was born in Almaty in 1980 and holds a law degree from the Kazakh State Law Academy (2001).

His professional journey commenced in 2002 as the chief specialist in the Department of Justice of Almaty. Subsequently, he served in various capacities, including as an expert in the Office of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Registration Service and Legal Assistance, and head of departments in governmental bodies such as the Agency for Combating Economic and Corruption Crime.

Between 2015 and 2022, Bektenov held significant positions, including Head of the Administration of the Akim of Astana and Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency of Kazakhstan.

Throughout his career, Bektenov has been recognized for his contributions, receiving honors such as the “Aibyn” and “Dank” orders.
