Earlier yesterday, BTS star Jung Kook began the festivities in the opening ceremony at the Al Bayt Stadium and well-known actor Morgan Freeman made a speech during the ceremony.
The Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani delivered a welcoming speech at the end of the opening.
Hosts Qatar opened the tournament with an opening day loss to Ecuador.
