Kazakh tennis player Zarina Diyas claimed victory at the ITF W50 international tournament in Kayseri, Türkiye, securing her first title in two years, TuraNews.kz reports.
In the final, Diyas faced Belarusian player Alena Falei, ranked 224th in the world and the third seed of the tournament. Despite losing the first set 0-6, Diyas made a strong comeback to win the next two sets, securing the championship after a 2-hour and 6-minute match.
During the tournament, Diyas defeated Romanian Patricia Maria Țig (ranked 256th) with a score of 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, followed by victories over unranked German Pia Preufke (7-6, 6-1), Turkish player Deniz Dilek (6-0, 6-2), and Russian Ekaterina Maklakova (ranked 485th) with a score of 6-1, 6-2.
