“Tashkent Game&Animation Fest 2024” Concludes in Uzbekistan
The international festival "Tashkent Game&Animation Fest 2024" successfully took place in Tashkent from June 4 to June 6, 2024, with support from the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan.
The event aimed to boost the development of the creative economy in Uzbekistan, elevate the production of games and animation to a global standard, and engage the country’s younger generation in the gaming and animation industries.
In alignment with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s decree on the “Strategy of Uzbekistan – 2030,” the goals include creating 300,000 IT sector jobs for young people, increasing IT services and software exports to $5 billion, and establishing Uzbekistan as a regional IT hub.
Speakers from over 10 countries participated in the festival. Highlights included Oscar-nominated Konstantin Bronzit, art studios’ creative producer Pavel Potekhin (Russia), Disney Channel representative Michael Morris (USA), and Matthew Lyon and Yuri Stepanov (Canada).
For the first time in animation history, the forum featured a presentation by the “Association of Turkic Animators” (ATA) under TURKSOY, showcasing leading animators from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
The festival also hosted a round table with members of the “Association of Turkic Animation.”
The forum was memorable for its emotional and high-quality content, as well as the special atmosphere of brotherhood and unity.
