According to the Ministry of Transport, the volume of freight transportation in Tajikistan rose by 15.2% from January to September 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. During this time, the freight turnover reached 9.7 billion ton-kilometers, which is an 11% increase from last year.
Road transport remained the primary mode of transportation, accounting for 95.1% of all freight shipments. A total of 94.8 million tons of cargo was transported by road, marking a 16% increase compared to the previous year.
Notably, over 31.5% of these shipments (31.4 million tons) were carried out by enterprises within the system of the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan.
