Tajikistan Reports 7.5% Average Annual Economic Growth
Tajikistan has achieved an average annual economic growth rate of 7.5% over the past 23 years,
Speaking at an event celebrating the 33rd anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence, the country’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ilhom Abdurakhmon, highlighted the significant progress made in the country’s economic development.
One of the key achievements during this period has been the remarkable increase in state budget revenues, which have grown more than 100 times per capita. Ambassador Abdurakhmon attributed this growth to consistent efforts in restoring the real sector of the economy.
He also noted improvements in the country’s health indicators, with life expectancy rising from 70 years in 1994 to 76 years currently, and the number of registered deaths halving during the same period.
Additionally, Tajikistan’s population has grown from 5.5 million to 10.2 million over the past two decades. The ambassador emphasized that, according to international assessments, Tajikistan has ranked among the top ten countries globally four times in the last decade for implementing reforms that stimulate investment. This success is attributed to government policies aimed at fostering entrepreneurship and creating favorable conditions for investors.
