Tajikistan plans to create 1.4 million new jobs over the next five years, President Emomali Rahmon announced in his annual address to the nation, according to Kazinform.
The president noted that the initiative is part of a broader strategy aimed at strengthening the national economy and improving living standards. Over the past decade, the country’s workforce has grown by 880,000 people, or approximately 2 percent annually.
Under the plan, more than 200,000 jobs are expected to be created each year. In addition, over 150,000 graduates from vocational institutions enter the labor market annually.
Rahmon instructed executive authorities, ministries, and agencies to ensure the effective implementation of state programs in order to meet the target of creating 1.4 million jobs within five years.
He also emphasized that particular focus will be placed on supporting small businesses, crafts, and family entrepreneurship, as well as on increasing employment opportunities for women and people with disabilities in rural areas.
