Tajikistan and Iran Establish Visa-Free Travel

Starting August 10, a new visa-free agreement between Tajikistan and Iran will allow citizens of both countries to travel without visas.

According to the Tajikistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed by both governments to remove visa requirements for holders of general civil passports. This agreement will take effect on August 10, 2024.

Under this new arrangement, citizens holding general civil passports can travel to the other country without a visa for up to 30 days within a 90-day period from their first entry.

Initially, the visa-free system will only apply to travelers using the Dushanbe-Tehran and Tehran-Dushanbe air routes.
