Syrian Authorities to Conduct Population Census and Approve New Constitution
The new administration in Syria, following a transitional process, plans to unveil a comprehensive "roadmap" to guide the country's future governance, according to Türkiye's Hürriyet newspaper, citing its sources.
The proposed roadmap includes a series of significant steps such as drafting a new Constitution, conducting a nationwide population census, and organizing free and fair elections. “Now is the time to build a new Syria. After establishing a provisional administration, the roadmap will be announced, leading to the creation of a new Constitution, a population census, and free elections,” the publication reports.
In related news, it was earlier reported that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, along with his family, has arrived in Moscow, where the Russian Federation has granted them asylum.
