The Almaty region is bracing for thunderstorms, hail, and squalls in its western, southern, and mountainous areas, alongside a dust storm during the day in the central region. Wind speeds of 15-20 m/s, peaking at 25 m/s, are expected.
Similar weather patterns are forecasted across other regions, including Aktobe, Atyrau, Kostanay, West Kazakhstan, Ulytau, Karaganda, Mangistau, North Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Turkestan, and East Kazakhstan.
Additionally, in the Abay and East Kazakhstan regions, intensive snowmelt in the mid-mountain zone may lead to slope runoff, resulting in increased water levels in rivers and streams, potentially causing flooding in residential areas and disruption to transportation routes from April 23 to April 26, 2024.
