Speakers of Parliament of Kazakhstan and Türkiye Visit Turkestan

On May 21, Chairman of the Majilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Yerlan Koshanov and Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmus visited Turkestan, the spiritual capital of the Turkic world.

The official visit of the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye to Kazakhstan continued in Turkestan. Yerlan Koshanov and Numan Kurtulmus began by visiting sacred sites, paying respects at the mausoleums of Arystan Bab, Khoja Ahmet Yasawi, and Rabiga Begim.

In the afternoon, Numan Kurtulmush participated in a conference titled “The Place of the Turkic World in the 21st Century” at the Kazakh-Turkish International University. During his visit, he emphasized the fruitful outcomes of his trip to Kazakhstan.

“Yesterday, we were received by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and met with the chairmen of the parliament chambers. Today, I am meeting you in Turkestan. Kazakhstan holds a special place for us. Our ancestor Khoja Ahmet Yasawi is a unique figure in the Islamic world. His works and noble heritage are known globally. Yasawi’s teachings have influenced Anatolia and the Balkans. The wisdom of this scholar and his legacy of learning connect our countries,” stated Numan Kurtulmush, Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.
