Speaker of the Senate of Kazakhstan Holds Meeting with Turkish Ambassador

The press service of the Senate of the Republic has reported that Maulen Ashimbayev, Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, recently convened a meeting with Mustafa Kapucu, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Turkish Republic to Kazakhstan

The discussions centered on bolstering cooperation and fostering the strategic partnership between the two nations.

In his opening remarks, Ashimbayev extended congratulations to Kapucu on the momentous occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Turkish Republic. He underscored the deep-rooted cultural and historical ties between Kazakhstan and Türkiye, emphasizing that their cooperation stands as a cornerstone of Kazakhstan’s foreign policy. Ashimbayev attributed the momentum of the comprehensive strategic partnership to the strong rapport between the leaders of Kazakhstan and Türkiye.

Ashimbayev expressed Kazakhstan’s interest in enhancing collaboration with the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye and in exchanging legislative expertise. He highlighted the importance of cultivating the potential of inter-parliamentary friendship groups like “Kazakhstan-Türkiye,” operating within the respective Parliaments. Ashimbayev also commended the significant contributions of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States in bolstering ties among Turkic-speaking nations across cultural, economic, and humanitarian domains. He noted the active involvement of Senate deputies in TurkPA commissions and related events.

The meeting delved into discussions regarding the outcomes of the X Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, outlining strategic avenues for joint initiatives within the framework of cooperation among Turkic-speaking states. Ashimbayev reiterated President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s emphasis, during the summit, on Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the Organization under the motto “TURKTIME!” This theme underscores the shared objective of preserving and strengthening unity grounded in mutual trust and common heritage.

Furthermore, Ashimbayev briefed his counterpart on the progress of socio-political and economic reforms in Kazakhstan, spearheaded by the Head of State, as well as the legislative endeavors of the Senate.

In response, Kapucu lauded the ongoing reforms in Kazakhstan and underscored the significance of expanding interaction among Turkic peoples to foster deeper ties.
