The Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov expressed his opinion about the possibility of creating a “gas union” between Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russia, Turanews.kz reports.
“Currently, we have not received an official proposal to establish a tripartite gas union. We will consider it when we receive it,” said Alikhan Smayilov in the meeting.
According to the Prime Minister, the issue of cooperation in the field of gas supply with Russia is being conducted through bilateral negotiations.
“We are waiting for the next stage of negotiations with Gazprom in the near future. The entire relationship is made on commercial and mutually beneficial terms. We will continue to work in a bilateral format,” said the Prime Minister.
