Several Individuals Detained for Selling Counterfeit US Dollars in Tashkent
Several individuals involved in the sale of counterfeit US dollars were detained in Tashkent, according to the press service of the Department under the Prosecutor General's Office.
The operation, carried out by officers from the Yangihayot District Office of the Department under the Prosecutor General’s Office, in collaboration with the Department of Internal Affairs, took place at a shopping mall parking lot on Yangi Sergeli Street. During the operation, the suspects were caught attempting to sell $9,000 in counterfeit US dollars for $5,000 in real currency.
A criminal case has been initiated under the article “Manufacturing, sale of counterfeit money, excise stamps, or securities” of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
