A total of seven candidates have been officially registered to partake in the upcoming early presidential elections scheduled for February 7, 2024, TuraNews.kz reports citing Interfax.az.
As reported by the Central Election Commission (CEC), the following candidates have successfully registered for the elections: the incumbent President Ilham Aliyev, self-nominated contenders Zahid Oruj and Fuad Aliyev, along with four representatives from diverse political parties – Razi Nurullayev, Fazil Mustafa, Gudryat Hasanguliyev, and Elshad Musayev.
Initially, 17 individuals had submitted their applications for candidacy. However, 10 of them failed to provide the necessary documentation to the CEC within the legally stipulated timeframe (until 18:00 on January 8). Consequently, these individuals were not included in the list of candidates for the elections.
