Senate Approves Law on Phytosanitary Cooperation with Türkiye

The Kazakh Senate, under the chairmanship of Speaker Maulen Ashimbayev, has approved a law ratifying an agreement between Kazakhstan and Türkiye on cooperation in plant quarantine and protection. This agreement aims to enhance phytosanitary security and prevent the spread of harmful quarantine organisms between the two countries.

Ashimbayev emphasized that the agreement provides a legal framework for joint efforts in plant quarantine, outlining specific measures for phytosanitary safety. Lawmakers noted that Kazakhstan and Türkiye will now exchange legal regulations, lists of quarantine organisms, and updates on phytosanitary conditions. Both nations will also collaborate in scientific research on plant protection.

The ratification of this agreement is expected to strengthen bilateral cooperation and contribute to agricultural trade by ensuring stricter safety standards.

Additionally, senators addressed various issues, including creative industry development, transportation infrastructure, child welfare, and sheep farming.
