Security Measures Heightened in Tashkent Amidst Concerns

Law enforcement authorities in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, have intensified security measures to safeguard citizens, particularly in crowded areas. This move comes in response to recent concerns over public safety.

The Tashkent City Internal Affairs Directorate has deployed a specialized unit to enhance citizen protection efforts. Officers are actively patrolling shopping centers, entertainment venues, markets, mosques, and busy thoroughfares. Additionally, stringent security checks on visitors’ bags and personal belongings are being conducted, with inspections aided by service dogs in crowded locations.

Furthermore, the National Guard of Uzbekistan has been mobilized to operate under an increased duty regime. Their deployment aims to bolster security measures across the city.

As the holy month of Ramadan unfolds, the National Guard, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, is working tirelessly to maintain public order and ensure the safety of citizens. Enhanced surveillance and patrols are being carried out in mosques during prayer times, as well as at various public events, large shopping complexes, markets, cinemas, parks, and avenues throughout the capital, according to statements from the National Guard’s press service.
