The World Nomad Games in Astana continue today with a variety of competitions in traditional sports. Kazakhstan, having already secured its 21st gold medal, remains the leader in the Games.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has released the schedule for the day:
- 10:00-12:00 – Semi-finals of kokpar at the Kazanat Hippodrome
- 15:00-17:00 – Kok boru matches at the Kazanat Hippodrome
- 10:00-13:00 – Powerful Nomad competition in the ethno-village near the hippodrome
- 16:00-18:00 – Final of the Powerful Nomad competition
- 9:00-18:00 – Zhamby atu competitions in the ethno-aul
- 10:00-13:00 – Traditional archery at the Argymak Equestrian Sports Complex, with final events from 16:00 to 18:00
- 10:00-13:00 – Alysh wrestling for men and women at the Zhaksylyk Ushkempirov Martial Arts Palace, with the men’s finals from 16:00 to 18:00
- 10:00-13:30 – The final day of the arkan tartys tournament at the Alau Ice Palace, with men’s and women’s finals from 16:30 to 18:00
- 10:00-18:00 – Final matches in togyzkumalak at the Parliament-Duman Conference Hall, with finals from 16:00 to 18:00
- 10:00-18:00 – Asyk finals at the Alau Ice Palace
Competitors will vie for top honors in these traditional sports, continuing the rich heritage celebrated at the World Nomad Games.
