Samarkand to Host First ‘Central Asia – European Union’ Summit

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev will attend the inaugural Central Asia – European Union summit in Samarkand and hold several bilateral meetings.

According to the presidential press service, Tokayev will visit Uzbekistan on April 3–4. The summit will bring together Central Asian leaders, European Council President António Costa, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Key topics on the agenda include strengthening political and economic ties between the region and the EU, as well as expanding the potential of the Trans-Caspian International Corridor.
