Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan are discussing establishing a “Tripartite Gas Union”

Kazakhstan Presidential Press Spokesperson Ruslan Zheldibay reported that President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed establishing the Russia-Kazakhstan-Uzbekistan Tripartite Gas Union.

The spokesperson of the President of Kazakhstan Ruslan Zheldibay Sultanuly, made a written statement regarding the Russia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Tripartite Gas Union, which came to the agenda during Tokayev’s visit to Moscow yesterday.

Stating that the issue came to the fore in the meetings of Kazakh and Russian leaders in the Kremlin, Jeldibay emphasized that the union aims to provide coordination in the transit of Russian gas through Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

“Kazakhstan President Tokayev and Russian President Vladimir Putin believe that detailed negotiations should be conducted with the participation of experts from the three countries in order to find a rational solution to this issue while taking into account the interests of all parties involved,” he noted.
