Republicans Nominate Trump for US Presidential Race

In a move that followed an assassination attempt which shocked the world, the Republican Party has officially nominated Donald Trump as their candidate for the upcoming US Presidential election. Trump selected Senator James David Vance as his running mate.

During the national convention in Milwaukee, Trump secured more than half of the 2,400 delegate votes. He will formally accept the nomination on Thursday in a speech concluding the party convention.

Trump announced his vice-presidential pick on Truth Social, stating, “After much thought and consideration of the incredible talents of many other candidates, I have decided that the person most qualified to serve as Vice President of the United States is Senator James David Vance of the great State of Ohio.”

Current President Joe Biden criticized Trump’s choice, claiming that Vance, despite his rhetoric about supporting working people, aims to raise taxes on middle-class families while cutting taxes for the wealthy.

James David Vance, 39, a former military man, businessman, and successful author, advocates for stringent measures against illegal immigration and economic protectionism. He also supports ending Washington’s arms supply to Ukraine and resolving the conflict quickly.

The Republican National Convention, which began the day after the assassination attempt on Trump, will conclude on Thursday with Trump’s official acceptance of the nomination.
