Proposal to Unblock TikTok in Kyrgyzstan

During a session of the Jogorku Kenesh (Kyrgyz Parliament), lawmakers proposed that the Kyrgyz government lift the ban on TikTok and open a representative office of the platform in the country.

Deputy Marlen Mamataliyev stated that people of all ages, from children to adults, have been using TikTok effortlessly in Kyrgyzstan by accessing it via VPN services.

“Although we have imposed a ban on the platform, it continues to function. It is essential for the country to have a representative office. The Director of TikTok in Central Asia is willing to open an office in Kyrgyzstan and assist law enforcement agencies in detecting the locations of destructive forces and blocking them when necessary. I request that the relevant authorities consider this proposal,” he said.

Deputy Dastan Bekeshev supported the proposal to lift the TikTok ban, emphasizing its value for local entrepreneurs.

“This platform offers great opportunities for advertising. TikTok can help us showcase the wonderful tourist destinations of our country,” he added, urging the government to remove the restrictions.
