Private plane crash in Russia kills 10, including Prigozhin

A private plane crash in the Tver region of Russia has killed all 10 people on board, including Yevgeny Prigozhin and Dmitry Utkin, Turanews.kz reports.

The plane, an Embraer 135, crashed two kilometers from an abandoned farm in the village of Kuzhenkino, not far from the M-10 highway. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The Federal Air Transport Agency has released the names of the victims, which include:

  • Yevgeny Prigozhin, a Russian businessman and close associate of President Vladimir Putin
  • Dmitry Utkin, a former Russian military officer and the founder of the Wagner Group, a private military company
  • Sergei Propustin, a Russian businessman and former deputy minister of agriculture
  • Evgeny Makaryan, a Russian businessman and owner of a construction company
  • Alexander Totmin, a Russian businessman and owner of a security company
  • Valery Chekalov, a Russian businessman and former deputy minister of defense
  • Nikolai Matyuseev, a Russian businessman and owner of a mining company
  • Alexei Levshin, the pilot of the plane
  • Rustam Karimov, the co-pilot of the plane
  • Kristina Raspopova, the flight attendant of the plane

The crash is a major loss for the Russian government and the Wagner Group. Prigozhin was a close advisor to Putin and was considered to be one of his most trusted allies. Utkin was the founder and leader of the Wagner Group, which has been accused of committing war crimes in Ukraine and Syria.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. The authorities have not yet released any information about the possible causes of the crash.
