Prime Ministers of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan Hold Meeting on Border Issues
The prime ministers of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan met at the junction of their three countries’ borders to discuss the shared border areas. They expressed confidence that the meeting would “determine the region’s future for decades to come, in the interest of the prosperity of the people and the countries.”
The trilateral meeting took place at the intersection of the borders of Batken Region (Kyrgyzstan), Fergana Region (Uzbekistan), and Sughd Region (Tajikistan), according to the press service of the Kyrgyz government.
The meeting was attended by Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov, the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Kyrgyz President’s Administration Adylbek Kasymaliyev, and Tajikistan’s Prime Minister Kohir Rasulzoda.
The parties noted that the meeting was held within the framework of previously reached agreements regarding state borders between the three countries. The leaders have consistently emphasized their desire to strengthen cooperation and regional integration.
The prime ministers highlighted that the countries have great potential for enhancing cooperation in key areas such as trade, logistics, water-energy resources, and cultural-humanitarian ties. They also emphasized the importance of developing cross-border and interregional cooperation, which will serve as a driving force for increased interaction among the countries.
