Presidents of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan Hold Informal Meeting
Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kyrgyzstan's President Sadyr Japarov recently held an informal meeting at the Amirsoy mountain ski resort in the Tashkent region.
According to a statement released by the Uzbek president’s press service, the two leaders discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on the current international political landscape.
The presidents also agreed to advance joint projects aimed at establishing resort centers that leverage the unique natural features of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
As previously reported, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan have set a goal to increase bilateral trade to $2 billion.
In addition, last year, two new border checkpoints were opened between the two countries, further enhancing connectivity.
