Presidents of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan Hold Narrow-Format Talks
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, currently on a state visit to Dushanbe, was welcomed by Tajik President Emomali Rahmon at the Kasri Millat Palace.
The official ceremony included a 21-gun salute, followed by a report from the chief of the honor guard and the playing of the national anthems of both countries. The leaders then introduced members of their official delegations.
Following the welcoming ceremony, the two presidents proceeded to the White Hall, where they held private talks. President Tokayev emphasized the importance of regular high-level meetings in strengthening the growing partnership between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. He expressed gratitude for the warm reception and highlighted the successful development of relations between the two countries, describing them as reliable allies.
Tokayev stressed the need to continue advancing bilateral ties and noted the significance of the visit, during which a Treaty on Allied Relations would be signed, marking a historic milestone in their cooperation.
Tajik President Rahmon praised the state of the countries’ bilateral relations and expressed a commitment to deepening their strategic partnership. He affirmed his willingness to discuss future collaboration and global issues, noting the dynamic growth of ties across political, trade, economic, cultural, and security areas.
The talks covered a range of topics, including trade, transport, energy, digitalization, agriculture, and water resources. Both leaders also discussed promising investment projects that could boost the economies of Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.
