Presidents of Kazakhstan and Singapore held talks in Astana

President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with the President of Singapore Halima Yacob who arrived in Kazakhstan on a state visit, Turanews.kz reports.

The negotiations were preceded by an official meeting ceremony at the Akorda residence. The head of the guard of honor gave a welcoming report to the heads of state. After the performance of the national anthems of the two countries and the traditional joint photographing, the leaders proceeded to the hall for an expanded meeting.

The parties discussed in detail the state and prospects for the development of Kazakh-Singapore relations with an emphasis on strengthening political dialogue, deepening trade and economic cooperation and expanding cultural and humanitarian ties.

The Leaders exchanged views on expanding export opportunities, opening joint ventures in our country. In particular, they discussed the implementation of a joint investment project for the construction of the G4 City agglomeration near the city of Almaty, expanding cooperation between financial institutions.

In addition, the presidents considered the prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of linking the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor and the Belt and Road Initiative, as well as launching direct air traffic between the countries.

During the conversation, a number of topical topics on the international agenda were also discussed, including the interaction between Kazakhstan and Singapore within the framework of multilateral structures.
