President Tokayev Welcomes Singaporean Parliamentary Delegation
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev recently hosted a delegation from Singapore's Parliament, led by Speaker Seah Kian Pen, at the Akorda residence, as per reports from the Akorda press service.
The meeting transpired in an atmosphere of warmth and productivity, showcasing the strong ties between the two nations and their mutual desire to enhance bilateral relations further.
“We are steadfast, time-proven partners. While much has been achieved in fortifying our bonds, we also set ambitious goals for advancing our cooperation,” remarked President Tokayev.
The President underscored the pivotal role of parliamentary diplomacy in bolstering international cooperation and fostering dialogue among nations.
Highlighting the robust economic ties between Kazakhstan and Singapore, President Tokayev noted the presence of over 140 Singaporean companies and joint ventures operating in Kazakhstan, with investments exceeding $1.4 billion in the Kazakh economy.
In response, Speaker Seah Kian Pen expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by President Tokayev and emphasized the significant potential for further deepening cooperation between the two countries.
The discussions during the meeting delved into the prospects for economic and investment collaboration, alongside deliberations on regional and international matters of shared interest.
