President Tokayev Proposes Establishing a Digital Innovation Center under OTS

At the 12th Summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev proposed establishing a Digital Innovation Center, reports TuraNews.kz.

According to the presidential press service, Tokayev emphasized that Kazakhstan’s strategic goal is to become a fully digital nation.

“To promote the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence, we have begun training qualified specialists. Since the beginning of the year, more than 400,000 students have undergone specialized training. We also plan to open the first research university dedicated to AI. Kazakhstan is ready to provide special grants for young people from Turkic countries who wish to study there,” the President said.

He also put forward several initiatives to be implemented within the framework of the Organization.

“Recently, the International Artificial Intelligence Center Alem.AI was opened in Astana. I propose establishing a Digital Innovation Center of the Organization of Turkic States based on this platform. The center will support startups, develop joint projects, promote experience sharing in AI, and attract venture capital,” he added.

Tokayev underlined the importance of using digitalization and AI potential for the benefit of people while minimizing risks and challenges related to new technologies.

“Therefore, I propose dedicating next year’s informal summit in Kazakhstan to the theme ‘Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development’,” he suggested.

The President also expressed readiness to organize an international conference with expert participation ahead of the summit.
