President Tokayev Meets with Tajik Prime Minister

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda during his state visit to Tajikistan, expressing optimism that recent agreements would further enhance the multifaceted relationship between the two nations.

During their conversation, Tokayev highlighted the successful outcome of the previous day’s discussions, which included the signing of contracts valued at over $1 billion. He expressed gratitude to Rasulzoda for facilitating the high-level business forum and stressed the importance of increasing mutual trade to $2 billion, encouraging both governments to identify new opportunities to boost commerce between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan.

Reaffirming Kazakhstan’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Tajikistan, Tokayev emphasized the need for continued collaboration across various sectors.

Prime Minister Rasulzoda, in turn, thanked the Kazakh President for his visit and acknowledged the growing importance of relations between the two countries. He emphasized that Kazakhstan has been a key trade partner for Tajikistan for many years, with a notable 20% increase in trade during the first half of the year. Rasulzoda affirmed that the goal of raising mutual trade to $2 billion is achievable and a top priority for Tajikistan.

Both leaders emphasized the importance of effectively implementing the agreements signed and unlocking the potential of trade, economic cooperation, industrial partnerships, and transport and transit collaborations between the two nations.
