President Tokayev Meets Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Ding Xuexiang

Astana, Kazakhstan – The President of Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomed Deputy Prime Minister Ding Xuexiang of the People’s Republic of China on an official visit. The meeting, aimed at discussing the state and future prospects of the Kazakh-Chinese strategic partnership, highlighted the progress made in implementing agreements previously established between President Tokayev and Chinese President Xi Jinping, TuraNews.kz reports.

President Tokayev emphasized the paramount importance of elevating bilateral relations with China to a new level. He described the Kazakh-Chinese relationship as a model of effective interstate cooperation, expressing high expectations for concrete results in various areas of collaboration.

“I believe that Kazakh-Chinese relations are a model of mutually beneficial, effective interstate interaction. We consider China as a very important strategic partner and have high hopes for achieving concrete results of our cooperation in all areas,” remarked President Tokayev during the conversation.

Referring to the recent success of the Third High-Level Forum “One Belt, One Road,” President Tokayev affirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to contributing fully to the implementation of this large-scale initiative proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The President highlighted the significance of the reciprocal visa-free regime and the declaration of the upcoming year as the Year of Kazakhstan Tourism in China, underscoring their importance for mutual exchange, especially among young people. He reiterated that the development of cooperation with China remains a top priority for Kazakhstan.

President Tokayev also noted the importance of the 11th meeting of the Kazakh-Chinese Cooperation Committee, held in Astana, in advancing joint actions in the trade and economic sphere.

Deputy Prime Minister Ding Xuexiang conveyed greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping to President Tokayev and expressed satisfaction with the pace of bilateral cooperation’s development. He emphasized the Chinese side’s commitment to implementing the agreements of the heads of state and contributing to the high-quality execution of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative.

During the meeting, the leaders discussed various areas of collaboration, including trade, agriculture, investment, transport, logistics, and energy. The importance of fostering cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries was also underscored.

The visit of Deputy Prime Minister Ding Xuexiang is seen as a crucial step in strengthening ties between Kazakhstan and China, with both nations expressing their dedication to achieving new milestones in their strategic partnership.
