President Tokayev and President Aliyev Hold High-Level Talks in Astana
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held official talks with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who arrived in Kazakhstan on a state visit.

The meeting began with an official welcoming ceremony at the Akorda Presidential Palace. The two leaders introduced members of their official delegations, received a salute from the honor guard, and stood for the national anthems before beginning their discussions.
“It is a great honor for me to welcome you on a state visit to the Republic of Kazakhstan. This visit marks an important step in further strengthening our strategic partnership and allied relations. Without exaggeration, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan are not only friendly states but brotherly nations. Therefore, developing multifaceted cooperation with your country is a top priority for us. Under your strong leadership, Azerbaijan has significantly enhanced its position and authority in the international arena and plays a crucial role as a regional power. Strengthening trade, economic, and political cooperation between our countries remains a key goal,” President Tokayev stated.
President Ilham Aliyev, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and noted the positive momentum in Kazakh-Azerbaijani relations.
“Today, Kazakhstan demonstrates a high level of development, ensuring political stability and economic self-sufficiency. We closely follow your ongoing reforms and fully support your course toward modernization and national progress. As for our bilateral relations, they are truly strategic and allied in nature. We aim to strengthen cooperation in all areas. During today’s talks and the session of the Supreme Interstate Council, we will review our broad agenda and outline further steps to deepen our partnership,” President Aliyev emphasized.
The two leaders held detailed discussions on expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, agriculture, and transit-transport sectors. Particular attention was given to cultural and humanitarian collaboration.
The presidents also exchanged views on pressing regional and international issues, reaffirming their shared commitment to strengthening friendship and partnership between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
