President Tokayev Affirms Kazakhstan’s Commitment to Turkic Integration at Meeting with TURKPA Speakers

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with parliamentary speakers from member states of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic States (TURKPA), reaffirming Kazakhstan’s full support for new initiatives proposed by the organization.

During the meeting, Tokayev underlined the strategic importance of TURKPA as a political platform that strengthens unity among Turkic nations. “Kazakhstan is committed to enhancing cooperation between our peoples and views TURKPA as a vital institution for promoting solidarity,” he stated. The President emphasized that Kazakhstan, as one of the founding members of the Organization of Turkic States, will continue to play an active role in deepening integration.

Highlighting Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the organization last year, Tokayev recalled initiatives launched under the “TURKTIME” motto, including nearly 100 events, the hosting of the 5th World Nomad Games in Astana, and the approval of a unified Turkic alphabet. He also proposed that the next summit be held in the sacred city of Turkistan.

Tokayev noted the growing cooperation in trade, energy, finance, and investments, and praised the effective work of the Turkic Investment Fund. He stressed the importance of strengthening interparliamentary ties and citizen diplomacy, calling TURKPA a “respected international platform.”

Turning to domestic affairs, the President briefed attendees on Kazakhstan’s political and socioeconomic reforms, including constitutional changes, a shift to a more balanced power system, and direct elections of regional governors starting this year.

He concluded by emphasizing Kazakhstan’s unwavering commitment to the idea of a “Fair Kazakhstan” rooted in law, order, and ecological responsibility through the “Taza Qazaqstan” initiative.
