President of Uzbekistan Receives Turkish Delegation

Президент Республики Узбекистан Шавкат Мирзиёев 12 сентября принял делегацию Турецкой Республики в составе министра иностранных дел Хакана Фидана, министра внутренних дел Али Ерликая и директора Национальной разведывательной службы этой страны Ибрахима Калына.

On September 12, President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, welcomed a Turkish delegation led by Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, and the Director of Türkiye’s National Intelligence Service, Ibrahim Kalin.

The delegation conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to UzA.

Discussions focused on enhancing the Uzbek-Turkish strategic partnership and expanding cooperation, following the agreements made during President Mirziyoyev’s official visit to Türkiye in June 2023. Both sides praised the outcomes of joint meetings held between ministers and department heads from the two countries, highlighting the importance of maintaining regular and systematic contacts as outlined in the “road map.”

Key topics included strengthening political dialogue, advancing trade, economic, and investment projects, and improving interdepartmental coordination. The parties also discussed joint efforts to tackle modern security challenges and exchanged views on regional cooperation and collaboration within international organizations.
