President of Uzbekistan Hosts Turkish Delegation to Strengthen Bilateral Ties
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan met with a Turkish delegation led by Minister of National Defense Yashar Güler on June 26 during their working visit to Uzbekistan.
At the outset of the meeting, Minister Güler conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Türkiye to President Mirziyoyev.
The discussions focused on enhancing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Türkiye, in line with agreements made during a high-level visit to Ankara on June 5-6 of this year.
Both sides explored prospects for advancing military and military-technical cooperation, emphasizing interdepartmental collaboration, joint activities, training programs for military personnel, and other areas of mutual interest.
Special attention was given to strengthening cooperation in security matters, including joint efforts against terrorism, extremism, and radicalism. The leaders also exchanged views on promoting peace and stability in the region, with a particular focus on the situation in Afghanistan.
