President of Kyrgyzstan Enforces Salary Freeze for Civil Servants

The moratorium, which will remain in effect until 2026.

The President of Kyrgyzstan has implemented a moratorium on increasing salaries for civil servants, as announced in the government newspaper Erkin-Too, according to 24.kg.

The moratorium, which will remain in effect until 2026, aims to optimize state budget expenditures. It prohibits any salary increases for employees of state departments, committees, presidential representative offices in the regions, and local government bodies. Additionally, it bars the expansion of staff in state institutions.

Any changes to salaries or staffing levels will only be possible under exceptional circumstances and require a separate decision from the President.

The department responsible for monitoring presidential and cabinet decisions will oversee the enforcement of this moratorium.
