
Welcoming Harris, Tokayev congratulated her on her appointment and expressed confidence that her experience would bring new momentum to the organization’s activities. He emphasized the importance of upholding the rule of law and reforming the judicial system in building a just and effective legal framework.
“We are implementing crucial reforms to strengthen law and order in Kazakhstan. The rule of law is fundamental to our country’s stability and prosperity, and we look forward to further collaboration with IACA and our judicial system,” Tokayev stated.
Pamela Harris commended Kazakhstan’s legal reforms, highlighting the separation of functions between the Judicial Administration and the Supreme Court as one of the most effective practices globally. She reaffirmed IACA’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Kazakhstan and noted the active involvement of national judicial administration representatives in IACA’s work.
During the meeting, both sides discussed key aspects of justice system modernization, with a focus on expanding cooperation between judicial institutions, as well as the potential use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in court proceedings.
